New York

I saw this, one evening as I was walking along 34th Street towards 5th Ave. The namesake of "New York". The Empire State.

Phoenix

This is another shot from the scene below. Another look at the beauty of a magnificent Jamaican sunset. The singular "phoenix", extinguishing itself in a fiery blaze, temporarily bidding adieu, to rise again and usher in another day.

Going Home

Took this one on my way home from the airport in Kingston. I wasn't the only one "going home".

Freedom

I took a week off from work during my surgery rotation - in March '06 to get away from the daily grind. Don't get me wrong, i loved surgery it was the best rotation i had but i just needed a little break to unwind. I decided to go to Negril for the weekend and on my way there stopped in Black River to check out the Safari tour. It was about an hour ride round trip. Got to see the mangroves, fed crocodiles-i was literally 2 feet away from one, and yes i still have all my limbs. We fished for a few minutes (unfortunately not enough for dinner. lol) and of course spotted lots of birds in their natural habitat.

This particular one and i had a thread of commonality. It was doing a little sightseeing of its own, but more than that it was soaring through the sky, wings fully expanded, enjoying its "freedom" as i was enjoying mine.

Touch

Taking a leisurely walk along the beach in Negril i noticed this; frozen in time forever striving to "touch" the sky.

What about me?

I'm guessing this breadfruit tree wasn't exactly having the greatest day, week, or month as evidenced by the lack of leaves but i couldn't help but think neither is that branch that was left out pondering "what about me"? Aw well, at least it has things straight.

Differences

I hauled my laundry downstairs and was distracted by thoughts of my upcoming exam. The thoughts waned as i gazed through the window and was captivated by "Differences". Perfect greeen leaves against a pristine, cloudless blue sky. This tree reaching towards the sky as i was reaching for my goals.
