I noticed this while looking out the apartment's bathroom window.

Freedom

I took a week off from work during my surgery rotation - in March '06 to get away from the daily grind. Don't get me wrong, i loved surgery it was the best rotation i had but i just needed a little break to unwind. I decided to go to Negril for the weekend and on my way there stopped in Black River to check out the Safari tour. It was about an hour ride round trip. Got to see the mangroves, fed crocodiles-i was literally 2 feet away from one, and yes i still have all my limbs. We fished for a few minutes (unfortunately not enough for dinner. lol) and of course spotted lots of birds in their natural habitat.

This particular one and i had a thread of commonality. It was doing a little sightseeing of its own, but more than that it was soaring through the sky, wings fully expanded, enjoying its "freedom" as i was enjoying mine.

Vinca

My grandmother has a lot of "Vinca" plants in the yard, but they have never really caught my attention; until now. It was early afternoon and I was just browsing around the yard (on my vacation, so I'm allowed to idle) and kept seeing more of these so i decided to take a few pictures and voilà; this popped into view!

Trust

I was in my backyard and saw this dragonfly. Of course I immediately wanted to take some shots but the second I approached it, it flew off! Which in my case has always been the experience. A few minutes later he decided to come back and displayed a healthy serving of "Trust". I was mere centimeters away from him, but he just sat there and allowed me to take quite a few shots. It was great! I did it in black and white because I liked the way it emphasized the pattern of its wings.

Throne

Duel

I was relaxing in my apartment enjoying the evening sun, when a light breeze passed, shifting my focus from the sunset to this "duel"
